We play in a number of local tournaments and leagues. So that our players can be exposed to college programs all over the country, we travel extensively for tournaments. In addition to tournament entry fees that can be as much as $1,000 per team, our parents have to pay for uniforms, travel costs (transportation, hotels, and food), association fees (covers the gym rental and equipment), and their own admission into the tournaments (which can be upwards of $50.00 per person per tournament).
As you see, the costs are high and some of our parents simply cannot afford to pay the total cost for their child to play. We believe that a lack of funds should not stop ANY child from playing. We supplement the parents and players with fundraising.
The payoff is enormous! Not only do our players improve their academics and school conduct through their participation in organized sports, but many go on to fund their college education with athletic scholarships. And several of them are on the President's List at their college! Our players are now doctors, nurses, business owners, coaches, and great parents! More importantly, they are strong and confident because of their participation.

The Fort Worth Hornets Youth Basketball Association uses basketball to enrich the lives of youth and to develop skills leading to good citizenship. We teach life skills such as discipline, goal setting, team work, problem solving and perseverance. Our organization stresses excellence in everything that our players do, including academics. At the present time, we field multiple boys and girls teams . We play in tournaments in the area, throughout the state, and some out-of-state tournaments as well. We also play in several leagues in the area.
"Once a Hornet, Always a Hornet" is the motto that we live by. We are family here. And we have the BEST parents in the world. Every parent is supportive of every Hornet. We encourage relationships on and off the courts.
Don't be surprised if you see a hive of Hornets out with each other at the movies or at a restaurant. Don't be surprised if the seats are filled with Hornets supporting other Hornets at games, churches, graduations, musical performances, etc.!
Many sport organizations focus on "finding" good players. We accept players where they are in their development and seek to improve their skill sets. Our goal is to help every player to be the best that he or she can be.
We believe in ourselves and in each other.
We believe that there is nothing we can't achieve with hard work, determination, and dedication.
We believe that what we do today impacts our tomorrows.
We believe!!!
